Program Outcomes (PO’s)

Students who have taken admission to this program of B.Com are expected to concentrate upon the following outcomes.

  1. The students will be ready for employment in functional areas like accounting, taxation, banking, insurance and corporate law.
  2. An attitude for working effectively and efficiently in a business environment.
  3. Learners will gain knowledge of various disciplines of commerce, business, accounting, economics, and finance, auditing and marketing.
Programme Specific Outcomes

At the end of the program, the students of B. Com (A & F) will :

  1. be completely acquainted with all branches of accounting required for a B. Com degree and have a thorough understanding of basic papers in Finance.
  2. have exposure to computerized accounting and current trends in Accounting & Finance.
  3. have exposure to solving real time, practical problems/cases, which will form part of skill assessment relating to: (a) Cost Accountancy (b) Taxation (c) BRS (d) Rectification of errors (e) Final accounts of a partnership firm/ Company.
  4. be able to critically evaluate and analyze financial statements.
  5. have an overview of international accounting standards.
  6. have choices to pursue professional courses such as CA, M.COM, MBA, CMA, ICWA, CS, etc
  7. be able to play roles of businessmen, entrepreneur, managers, consultant, which will help learners to possess knowledge and other soft skills and to react aptly when confronted with critical decision making.
  8. acquire skills to work as tax consultant, audit assistant and other financial supporting services.
Course Outcomes :

1 Financial accounting On successful completion of this course the student are enabled with the Knowledge in the practical applications of accounting, learn principles and concepts of Accountancy, basic concepts of Partnership Accounting, company accounts etc.
2 Cost and management accounting Familiarize the concept of cost accounting preparation of cost sheet, material control, concept of overhead cost and systems of costing.
3 Auditing To develop an understanding of audit concept
4 Business economics Students gain knowledge of Economic and business environment, Demand Analysis, Supply Analysis, and theories of economics, able to different costing systems in practical scenario.
5 statistics and mathematics students acquire new skills on the application of statistical tools and techniques in Business decision-making, Popular Quantitative Tools used in Business, practical exposure on calculation of measures of average, correlation and regression
6 Business law Knowledge of basic provisions regarding legal frame work governing the business
7 Human Resources Management Students are able to know about planning, placement and training, significance of performance appraisal and methods of Compensation
8 Marketing Gain idea about marketing and its functions, consumer behavior, product and its classifications, pricing policies
Mechanism of Communication of PSOs and COs

The Programme Specific Outcomes and the Course Outcomes of BA in History programmes is communicated to the students and teachers by :

  1. Placing them in college website.
  2. Displaying them on the notice boards in the department classrooms at the beginning of the academic year.
  3. Discussing them (module wise) during the syllabus presentation (PPT) at the beginning of each semester.
