Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

M. B. More Women College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It offers Three Year integrated course in Arts, leading to B.A, Degree awarded by the University of Mumbai. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) is an undergraduate course that students pursue right after their class 12th .B.A. is most popular among students of Humanities and there are various specialisations under B.A. Humanities. Our college offers specialisations as B.A. (History) (6 Unit), B.A. (History) (3 Unit) and B.A. (Marathi) (3 Unit).

After completing a BA course candidates can pursue a M.A. course in the same discipline in which they pursued their graduation. However, aspirants can also opt to pursue a job right after completing their BA course.

B.A. syllabus is broken into six semesters and continuous evaluation is done in each semester. The Choice Based Credit and Grading System (CBCGS) has been implemented at the Mumbai University for all the under Graduate (UG) programs under the faculty of Art’s Commerce and Science from the academic year 2011-12.

Eligibility Criteria

The Mumbai University’s eligibility criteria for a BA course specify that candidates should have completed their 10+2 from a recognised board. The College offers admission to B.A. course on the basis of merit in 10+2.

Candidates who want to pursue a BA course need to have interest in the subjects that they choose to pursue in the course. Some of the key skills that aspirants should have in order to pursue a BA course are : Good writer, Fluency in language, Organised, Intellectually curious, Inquisitive, Logical, etc.

  2. Understand the present existing social, political, religious and economic conditions of the people.
  3. Analyze relationship between the past and the present is lively presented in the history.
  4. Develop practical skills helpful in the study and understanding of historical events.
    1. Draw and read historical maps, charts, diagrams etc.
    2. Prepare historical models, tools etc.
    3. Develop interests in the study of history and activities relating to history.
    4. Collect ancient arts, old coins and other historical materials.
    5. Participate in historical drama and historical occasions.
    6. Visit places of historical interests, archaeological sites, museums and archives.
    7. Play active roles in activities of the historical organizations and associations.
    8. Write articles on historical topics.
