COLLEGE ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE

The main objective of administrative committees is to create and maintain a cross-campus collaborative of students, faculty and staff for the purpose of developing a practicing perspective of environmental stewardship at the College. The input of the committee members is important in the life of the College. Administrative committees are advisory, not legislative.

Functions:

  1. Review the Admission process and give directions to enhance the student count.
  2. Supervision of academic affairs such as hiring, promotion, tenure, and evaluation (with faculty input where appropriate).
  3. Maintenance of official records (typically supervised by a registrar).
  4. Maintenance and audit of financial flows and records.
  5. Maintenance and construction of campus buildings.
  6. Maintenance of the campus grounds.
  7. Safety and security of people and property on the campus (often organized as an office of public safety or campus police).
  8. Supervision and support of campus computers and network (information technology).
  9. Fundraising from private individuals and foundations (“development” or “advancement”).
  10. Research administration (including grants and contract administration, and institutional compliance with federal and state regulations).
  11. Public affairs (including relations with the media, the community, and local, state, and federal governments).
  12. Student services such as disability services, career counselling and library staff.
