Methodology

M. B. More Arts, Commerce and Science Women College is located in a rural area of Roha Taluka. Majority of the students enrolled are from nearby schools from Marathi medium. Most of them are from economically weaker background and also first generation learners. In order to bridge the gap between school and collegiate education, a well structured one week bridge course is being conducted to help them step confidently into collegiate education.

A Curriculum is framed separately in each of the subjects, for Bridge Course. During the first week after the commencement of the classes, the bridge course curriculum is delivered to the students in various disciplines. Faculty members from various departments train the freshers as per schedule.

Importance of various subjects, scope of their course, career opportunities in their course, essential language skills, behavioural rules, placement opportunities are highlighted. Girl students are encouraged to raise their doubts followed by the discussions.A session on campus visit to Library, laboratories, ICT lab, play ground and to their core departments is arranged to vanquish the fears of the new comers.

A post bridge course test is conducted after the completion of bridge course syllabus to assess the ability of student’s. Suggestions are also given to students for improvisation. At the end of the bridge course, first year students step into their classes with complete confidence to pursue their studies.
